This five-size reference list is intentionally non-exhaustive. Larger vehicles may be available by market and provider; U-Haul also publishes a 29 ft truck at 2,057 ft³. Check local availability, payload and access before booking.
Assumptions used
Usable volume per trip = nominal capacity × efficiency; default 75%, allowed 30–95%. Trips = ceil(inventory ÷ usable capacity). Zero inventory gives zero trips, average load and spare capacity. Vehicle presets share the truck-size references; custom capacity remains available.
How this calculator works
A trip count tells you how much volume must be moved, not how to split individual pieces between loads. Check that the largest item fits and that each load stays within payload limits. The average per trip and total spare space help compare options; loading order and travel time still need a separate plan.
How to use this estimate
Published vehicle capacity is nominal. Real loading efficiency varies with interior shape, furniture and how the load is secured.
What can change the result
Measurements, provider specifications, packing style and local access conditions can all change the answer. Use the result as a planning range, then verify the actual vehicle, unit, product dimensions or supplier rules before you book or buy.
Planning note: Do not use this calculator as a substitute for payload limits, lifting guidance, building rules or professional quotations.
