This five-size reference list is intentionally non-exhaustive. Larger vehicles may be available by market and provider; U-Haul also publishes a 29 ft truck at 2,057 ft³. Check local availability, payload and access before booking.
Assumptions used
Required nominal capacity = inventory volume ÷ loading efficiency; default 75%, allowed 45–90%. Native references: 245, 402, 764, 1,016 and 1,682 ft³. Choose the first that fits; above the final reference, calculate multiple trips. Warn above 90% of effective space. Zero inventory needs no vehicle.
How this calculator works
Compare your inventory with usable space rather than the truck’s advertised empty volume. The warning flags a tight fit before you book. Capacity alone cannot establish payload suitability, door clearance or a workable loading plan. Larger local vehicles may exist beyond this reference list.
How to use this estimate
Published vehicle capacity is nominal. Real loading efficiency varies with interior shape, furniture and how the load is secured.
What can change the result
Measurements, provider specifications, packing style and local access conditions can all change the answer. Use the result as a planning range, then verify the actual vehicle, unit, product dimensions or supplier rules before you book or buy.
Planning note: Do not use this calculator as a substitute for payload limits, lifting guidance, building rules or professional quotations.
